Actor Priyaank Sharma will make his big screen debut with another fresh face, star Riva Shukla, actor Ravi Kishan’s daughter, in Sab Kushal Mangal (2019). The son of producer Pradeep Sharma and his actress wife Padmini Kolhapure already knows the ins and outs of the film industry.
He begun by assisting filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi on Phata Poster Nikla Hero (2013) and has completed an acting course from The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York.
For his first film, he had to undergo some physical transformation as well. “We did two months workshop with our director Karan Vishwanath Kashyap before the filming began. I was a little beefed up so I also lost some weight since my character is a boy-next-door from a small town," Priyaank said.
However, having an actress as a mother has been beneficial for him.
“I didn’t see many of her films while growing up because I ended up crying most of the time and didn’t visit her on sets much either but yes, we discuss films a lot at home. I have been part of her acting school and learnt a lot while watching other acting students there. I hope she likes me when she sees me on screen," he continued.
According to him, his favourite films starring her are Prem Rog (1982), Woh 7 Din (1983), and Aisa Pyar Kahan (1986) that his dad produced.
The actor is shooting for Sab Kushal Mangal (2019) in Ranchi and the film is expected to wrap up shooting during April.
