Producer Sandeep Ssingh has decided to turn singer for his upcoming film PM Narendra Modi. He will take the microphone to sing ‘Namo Namo’, which is an ode to India’s prime minister Narendra Modi, on whose life the film is based.

Parry G will also be mouthing some rap in the song. He has also written the lyrics.

Speaking about his decision to turn singer, Ssingh said in an official statement, “This film is very close to my heart and I wanted to give it a personal touch. What could have been better than singing a rap song for the person we all admire. It’s a very interesting song and I hope people like it.”

PM Narendra Modi was earlier supposed to release on 12 April, a day after the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections began. But now the film will be out on 5. The producers Legend Global Studio, T-Series and two Hindi newspapers were sent notices by the Election Commission (EC) seeking explanation on allegedly promoting an election candidate through advertisements in these publications despite the model code of conduct (MCC) being put into place.

Would PM Narendra Modi fall foul of the Election Commission's model code of conduct?

Last week, veteran lyricists Javed Akhtar and Sameer Anjaan expressed their displeasure at seeing their names in the trailer of the film since, according to them, they hadn't written any songs for the film. The next day, producer Ssingh clarified that the two were credited because their old songs were used in the film.

The film has Vivek Anand Oberoi playing Modi. He will be donning different avatars in the film.
