With Modi and films being in the news, Umesh Shukla has found the right atmosphere to release a teaser of his upcoming web-series, Modi. The series is likely to be released in April.

The first teaser of the web-series was released on Saturday, with Mahesh Thakur front and centre. The actor plays prime minister Narendra Modi, while Faisal Khan and Ashish Sharma play younger versions of him.

The teaser repeats the promise on the poster to 'capture the journey of a common man', with Thakur's appearance as Modi backed by an instrumental 'Vande Mataram'.

The teaser offers nothing more to analyse, except for Thakur's appearance as Modi. While he looks far younger than the prime minister, it is difficult to know any more since there are no lines in the teaser.

Written by Mihir Buta and Radhika Anand, the series seeks to analyse the journey of Narendra Modi from being a young man to the prime minister of India in the 2014 general elections.

The series will be hosted on the Eros Now digital platform, and is directed by Umesh Shukla.

This is the second such biographical drama based on the life of Narendra Modi. Omung Kumar's film PM Narendra Modi, featuring Vivek Anand Oberoi in the lead role, is also expected to be released on 5 April.
