Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is all set to launch a new face in his next home production — Jaaved Jaaferi's son Meezaan.
Over a decade ago, Bhansali launched Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor Ahuja in his passion project Saawariya (2007). While the film failed at the box office, it gave Hindi cinema two new stars.
This time, Bhansali will launch Meezaan, also grandson of actor-comedian Jagdeep, in the yet-untitled film directed by Mangesh Hadawale. Meezaan has studied filmmaking in New York for four years, trained in martial arts, and done some theatre.
Reportedly, Bhansali will also introduce his niece, Sharmin Segal, daughter of his sister, editor-filmmaker Bela Segal, in the film opposite Meezan. However, there has been no official confirmation on the launch of Sharmin in the project.
Last year, it was announced that Bhansali was also producing a film called Tuesdays And Fridays (2019), directed by Taranveer Singh, and introduce Poonam Dhillon's son, Anmol Thakeria Dhillon and former Miss India International 2014, Jhataleka Malhotra.
The filmmaker's last film was Padmaavat (2018) starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor. He is reuniting with his Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999) star Salman Khan after 19 years for his project as director.
Filmmaker Hadawale has previously worked on Tingya (2008), the unreleased Dekh Indian Circus (2011), and Tapaal (2014).
