Box office: Badla has excellent second weekend with Rs18.25 crore nett

Badla and Captain Marvel, which were released on 8 March, helped drive the box office even as this week's releases (Photograph, Milan Takies and Mere Pyare Prime Minister) had a rough opening weekend.
Badla, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu, had an excellent second weekend with Rs18.25 crore nett, as reported by Boxofficeindia.com.
The thriller, directed by Sujoy Ghosh, is a remake of Spanish film, Contratriempo (2016).

The film, co-produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Azure Entertainment, made Rs3.75 crore nett on its second Friday before posting impressive figures of Rs6.50 crore and Rs8 crore nett, respectively on the weekend. Badla has so far made Rs56.04 crore nett at the domestic box office. Badla had collected Rs22.75 crore nett in its opening weekend.
Made at an estimated budget of Rs24 crore, Badla was released on 1,000 screens in India.
Meanwhile, Hollywood release Captain Marvel too enjoyed a good second weekend with Rs14.25 crore nett. Distributed by Disney, the Hollywood film made Rs3 crore nett on its second Friday and picked up Rs5.25 crore and Rs6 crore nett on the weekend.
Released on 1,900 screens (all languages), Captain Marvel has so far made Rs70.62 crore nett in India. The film had made Rs40.35 crore nett in its opening weekend.
