There were a handful of low-budget films that released on 15 March, but none of them has made an impression at the box office.
Photograph, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sanya Malhotra, director Tigmanshu Dhulia’s love story Milan Talkies, and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Mere Pyare Prime Minister couldn’t fetch Rs1 crore each in their opening weekend, as reported by Boxofficeindia.com.
Director Ritesh Batra’s Photograph collected a mere Rs95 lakh nett in its opening weekend. The film opened to Rs20 lakh nett, and could only make Rs35 lakh each on Saturday and Sunday. The film, co-produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Batra, is made at an estimated budget of Rs20 crore. It has been released on over 700 screens in India.

Mehra’s Mere Prime Minister did the poorest of the lot, at Rs28 lakh nett in its opening weekend. The social drama, featuring Anjali Patil and Om Kanojiya in the lead cast, opened to Rs8 lakh nett, and added Rs10 lakh each on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
After a disappointing Friday, hopes are on Akshay Kumar-starrer Kesari to revive the box office. Kesari will be released on Holi, 21 March.
