The teaser of Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming multi-lingual release Dear Comrade was released on Sunday. Going by the first impression of the visuals, this looks like an intense love story set against a college backdrop and featuring Vijay as a student leader.

The teaser unfolds in what appears to be a college corridor. We see Deverakonda walk in slow motion and punch someone in the face and as he falls behind a pillar and the camera follows him, the scene is quickly cut and we see Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna on the other side of pillar, passionately kissing in the rain.

Deverakonda is all rage and romantic in the teaser and one can’t shake off the Arjun Reddy (2017) hangover. Maybe it’s too early to judge, but it will be interesting to see when the film comes out on 31 May.

A romantic number featuring Sid Sriram’s voice is played throughout the teaser.

The film, produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Big Ben Cinema, is the directorial debut of Bharat Kamma, an erstwhile assistant of Chandrasekhar Yeleti.

Rashmika, who had previously worked together with Deverakonda in Geetha Govindam (2018), as the leading lady and she will be seen playing a cricketer. She underwent cricket lessons for nearly two months before joining the sets.

The teaser has been released in four languages — Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
