Good news, Gully Boy fans! It looks like co-writers Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti are not done with the world of hip-hop just yet. The director revealed, after the success of her latest film, that she and her writing partner are working on another film that will revolve around hip-hop.
Zoya Akhtar told the daily Deccan Chronicle, "My co-writer Reema Kagti and I do feel there is so much more to be said on the entire hip-hop culture in our country. And another film exploring the theme is being scripted and planned."

The filmmaker wasn't clear if the film would be a sequel to Gully Boy or tell the story of an altogether new character.
Gully Boy (2019), which was released on Valentine's Day, tells the story of aspiring hip-hop singer Murad (Ranveer Singh) who aims to break out of his ordinary existence and become a singer-songwriter.
The musical is Zoya Akhtar's fourth feature film and has also become her first Rs100 crore film. Besides, Zoya has written and directed two short films in the anthology films Bombay Talkies (2013) and Lust Stories (2018).
Following Gully Boy, which also stars Alia Bhatt, Zoya and Kagti's next production, the web-series Made In Heaven, was premiered on Amazon Prime Video on 8 March.
