Following the runaway success of Pongal release Viswasam (2019), director Sivakumar Jayakumar aka Siva is on a career high and producers are forming the beeline to sign him for their next project. If the industry grapevine is anything to go by, Siva might join hands with Suriya next for a project to be bankrolled by Studio Green.
Apparently, Siva was supposed to do a project for Studio Green long back, but due to his commitments their collaboration didn’t materialise. It’s finally falling in place, it has been learnt from reliable sources that Suriya has been roped in.
More information regarding the project is awaited, but it’s most likely expected to go on the floors later this year.
Currently, Suriya is busy wrapping up KV Anand’s Kaappaan, in which he plays the role of a bodyguard and his crew cut look with flexed muscles has already sent his fans into a tizzy.
Suriya also has a film with director Sudha Kongara next. Currently dubbed as Suriya 38, this film will hit the floors in May or June.
Well-known producer Guneet Monga, who recently won the Academy Award for short film Period. End of Sentence. (2018), will be foraying into the Tamil market with the upcoming Suriya film.
In her interview to The Hindu, Monga confirmed signing Suriya’s next film with Kongara, who had helmed Saala Khadoos (2016). Monga will co-produce the film in association with 2D Entertainment.
She also went on to reveal that the film will be based on the life of Captain GR Gopinath, the founder of budget airline Air Deccan.
