Water scarcity is a grave issue not just in India, but all over the world. Maharashtra's drought-like situation has been reported widely. It doesn’t come as a surprise to see a Marathi film based on water scarcity. Director Rohaan Satghare’s Ek Hota Pani speaks about the gravity of the crisis in the state.

The recently released teaser to the film shows many characters struggling for every drop of water. We see a girl dying due to lack of water, and kids being forced to use muddy water is tragically moving.

Ek Hota Pani also throws light on the corruption that leads to water scarcity, and how the monopoly for the resource is in the hands of a few rich and powerful people. The malpractice of water tankers being provided only to the elite also gets a mention.

Hansraj Jagtap had won the Special Jury National Award as a child actor for Dhag (2014). He is playing an adult in this film. His character is romantically involved with Sriya Mastekar's character. The film also features Anant Jog, as the villain, and Yatin Karyekar.

Director Satghare’s last released film was the horror movie The Shadow (2015). He has also directed films like Trusha, Love Is Vaat and Akath Kahani, none of which have been released yet.
