Actor Venkatesh will star in the Telugu remake of Ajay Devgn-starrer De De Pyaar De (2019), which also featured Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles. The project was announced by producer Suresh Babu on Wednesday, 5 June, to commemorate the completion of 55 years of Suresh Productions.
Talking to reporters in Hyderabad about the road ahead for Suresh Productions, he opened up about the banner’s upcoming projects.
“We are currently shooting Venky Mama (which stars Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya) in Kashmir. We are working on India’s biggest film which will be Hiranyakashyapa (starring Rana Daggubati), and its pre-production work has been going on for three years now. As a company, we want to make more films than before,” he said, confirming acquiring the Telugu remake rights of De De Pyaar De.
“The remake of De De Pyaar De will star Venkatesh. We also have films planned with Tharun Bhascker Dhaassyam and Trinadha Rao Nakkina with Venkatesh,” he said.
Suresh Babu, who is the managing director of Suresh Productions and father of Rana Daggubati, also confirmed foraying into Tamil and Hindi markets soon.
On their company clocking 55 years, he thanked Telugu audiences for their love and support and said if not for their patronage they couldn’t have been relevant even now.
“It’s not easy to stay relevant even after 55 years. We are really blessed to continue in the industry. What was once a production company is slowly turning into a content, talent management and technology company. This is a complete ecosystem that Rana and I are trying to put together.”
Suresh Productions’ upcoming release is Samantha Akkineni-starrer Telugu comedy Oh Baby (2019).
