It's a wrap on Meghna Gulzar's next, Chhapaak, based on the life of acid attack survivor and activist Laxmi Agarwal.
The film, which completed filming on Tuesday, 4 June, stars actress Deepika Padukone as Malti and actor Vikrant Massey as Amol. The production began filming in Delhi on 25 March this year.
Padukone has turned producer with this inspirational film. She shared a photo of the exuberant cast and crew at night with the caption, "It’s a wrap on the most precious film of my career... see you all at the movies! 10.1.2020".
Her co-star Massey put up a photograph of the pair grinning with co-writer and director Meghna. He wrote, "Thank you Meghna Gulzar, Deepika Padukone, Fox Star Hindi and the entire team of Chhapaak for some of the best days of my life."
Their director thanked her lead pair for their faith and dedication and said she would carry their characters with her.
Meghna also shared some glimpses of herself in action on the set of Chhapaak, noting all that needed to be done. In her post, she tagged all key crew members and said, "When the last scene in the film’s one-line has been “yellowed” off, there’s so much and so many to be grateful for. Thank you each and everyone on team Chhapaak for this incredible journey!"
While filming has been completed, the post-production work remains. Chhapaak, co-produced by Padukone and director Meghna Gulzar, is due to be released on 10 January 2020.
