Bengali actor Jisshu Sengupta has joined the cast of Mahesh Bhatt's directorial Sadak 2 (2020). The actor joins Priyanka Bose, and Akshay Anand as the newest additions to the sequel to the 1991 hit, Sadak.
Sengupta has been a part of a few Hindi films and was last seen alongside Kangana Ranaut in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi (2019). The actor was welcomed on his first day of the shoot by a typically philosophical Mahesh Bhatt.
Bhatt presented the actor with a copy of the script, with the note 'Dear Jisshu, In the heart of darkness, there is light'
The film marks the return of Mahesh Bhatt to the directorial chair after almost 20 years. The film will also see him direct both daughters, Pooja and Alia, for the first time in his career.
Sadak 2 is the sequel to the 1991 hit, Sadak, which saw Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt in the lead roles with the late Sadashiv Amrapurkar taking on the role of the antagonist.
