The visual imagery of the short video, shared by the studio, has led to speculation that the production house is set to announce a sequel to Dostana (2008).

Trust Dharma Productions to come up with a launch announcement that sets the social media buzzing. The production house has put out a cryptic video about their next film, which has all the signs of a sequel to the Tarun Mansukhani hit, Dostana (2008).
The rumours of a sequel to the Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham-starrer has been in the news for quite a while. Although neither the actors nor the production house has answered in the affirmative to them. This is why the latest video clip shared on the Dharma social media feed led to the rumours gaining more strength.

The visuals clearly indicate that the story does have the 'same ring' as the popular Dostana. The 2008 film proved to be the first commercial hit which dealt with a pseudo-homosexual relationship in its storyline.
The latest videos too hint at the same thing. The tagline 'It is what you think it is', also seems to partly confirm that the sequel is in the works. Earlier in the month, reports suggested that Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor had been approached for the sequel. The reports also stated that while the film will not follow the same storyline as the first film, it will take the discussion on the subject of sexual orientation further.
Earlier in January, rumours about Alia Bhatt having signed on for the sequel led to Karan Johar issuing a terse denial on his Twitter feed.
For the record.....NO ONE has been officially approached for DOSTANA 2!!!! Some thoughts and ideas are underway but nothing official has moved......

With the confirmation out, it is only a day before the official announcements will hit the market.
