Megha Akash teams up with Vijay Sethupathi for first time

The project was officially launched last week and Amala Paul was originally signed as the leading lady. However, she opted out of the project couple of days ago citing date issues with her other commitments

Last seen playing a brief role in superstar Rajinikanth’s Petta (2019), actress Megha Akash has signed on for a big film. She has been paired opposite Vijay Sethupathi in his upcoming yet-untitled Tamil film which is currently dubbed VSP 33.

The project was officially launched last week and Amala Paul was originally signed as the leading lady. However, she opted out of the project couple of days ago citing date issues with her other commitments.

To be directed by Venkata Krishna Rognath, the film will feature Vijay Sethupathi as a musician.

Talking to the newspaper Times of India about the project, Venkat said: “The film revolves around three music composers, played by the two leads and a foreign actress. The rivalry and romance between them and how this spills over into the problems that the protagonist is facing in his life form the plot.”

He also said that there will also be another lead character in this film, which will have music by Nivas K Prasanna. The team has already begun shooting key portion with Vijay while Megha is expected to join the sets soon.

With nearly half a dozen projects in his kitty, Vijay Sethupathi is looking at a very busy year. This week, his film Sindhubaadh (2019) is slated for release. He also has projects like Kadaisi Vivasayi (2019), Sanga Thamizhan (2019), Laabam (2019) and Syeraa Narasimha Reddy (2020) in the offing.

In Chiranjeevi’s Telugu magnum opus Syeraa Narasimha Reddy, Sethupathi plays the former’s aide and will be seen playing a character that travels throughout with Chiranjeevi in the film.
