Arjun Patiala song ‘Main Deewana Tera’: Diljit, Kriti get down on the dance floor with this rollicking party number

Composed by Sachin – Jigar, the peppy track is sung by Guru Randhawa.

So far, the marketing of the upcoming comedy Arjun Patiala (2019) has kept things in a fun vein, while not taking itself seriously. The first song from the film, ‘Main Deewana Tera’, follows suit. The makers introduce the song as an ‘original ladki patanewala gaana’.

This time, the police officer Arjun, played by Diljit Dosanjh, trades in his khaki uniform for a white suit and romances reporter Ritu (Kriti Sanon) on the dance floor. Onida Singh (Varun Sharma) accompanies the pair in this peppy party number.

The fun song, crooned by Guru Randhawa, seems made for Dosanjh. He dances, romances and riffs with his comedic sidekick, Sharma. All without breaking a sweat! The Punjabi party track is right up his alley.

Randhawa, who has also written the lyrics, teams up with composer duo Sachin – Jigar, who have infused the number with the right balance of the old and the new. There’s an homage to old Hindi party numbers (through the use of the trumpet), even as the electronic mixing of the song is completely contemporary.

Arjun Patiala, directed by Rohit Jugraj, is due to be released on 26 July.
