Vinay Pathak, Raima Sen and Salim Diwan have been roped in for a romantic thriller with an unusual title, Aaliya Basu Gayab Hai.

Produced by Rehab Pictures, the film will be directed by first-time feature filmmaker Preeti Singh. The makers have claimed that the USP of the film is that it features three different sexualities. The film also stars Vineet Kumar Singh and Ashish Vidyarthi.

“The film’s content is unique and never seen before in Indian cinema," said an official statement from the makers. "The film portrays characters with different sexual orientations and complexities of human emotions. It shows how far a person will go to save himself/herself and how destiny has its own way of catching up.”

Speaking about the film, Pathak said, “When I heard the script of Aliya Basu Gayab Hai, I knew I had to do the film at all costs. It’s a film replete with surprises and twists that will catch you unawares. It was wonderful working with Preeti, Raima, Salim and the rest of this talented crew. I hope audiences have an equally enjoyable time watching it.”

Raima Sen said it had been long since she had liked any script. “I am eagerly looking forward to this film," the popular Bengali actress said. "After a long time, I am very kicked about a script and my role. It was a great experience working with Vinay, Salim and Preeti. We all have put in our best efforts and I am sure watching Aliya Basu Gayab Hai will be a very thrilling experience for audiences.”
