Medium Spicy team celebrates Sai Tamhankar's birthday on set, with a twist

Actress Sai Tamhankar, who turned 32 today, brought in her birthday in an unique way. Her birthday was celebrated on the sets of her upcoming Marathi film Medium Spicy a day in advance.

Yesterday, 24 June, the Medium Spicy team arranged for an urgent shoot and asked Tamhankar to be on the set. When the actress arrived, she received a wonderful surprise.

“We decided to do this in advance so that she doesn’t have to change her birthday plans," producer Vidhi Kasliwal said in a press release. "Everyone on sets was informed except Sai. It was nice to see happiness all around when we all gathered just to eat cake."

The film, which also features Lalit Prabhakar and Parna Pethe, is currently on its last leg of shooting. A large portion has already been completed. Celebrated theatre director Mohit Takalkar makes his directorial debut with Medium Spicy.

Sai Tamhankar will be seen next in Girlfriend (2019) where she plays Alisha, girlfriend of the nerdy Nachiket Pradhan (Amey Wagh). Girlfriend is due to be released on 26 July.

Meanwhile, for the past three years Tamhankar's fan club, Saiholics, has been planting trees on her birthday. This year, they celebrated her birthday by distributing notebooks and other stationery to 100 poor children.

The fan club organized a special 'Sai birthday truck' which distributed sweets to children. Tamhankar said she is lucky to have such a fan club. "I will also try to inspire people through my work," she said.
