Director Akshay Indikar’s debut Marathi film Trijya was recently screened at the Shanghai International Film Festival. The film was one of India’s official entries and was nominated for Best Director, Best Film and Best Cinematography. The festival concluded yesterday.

Trijya is a joint production of Chitrakathi Nirmitee and Bombay Berlin Film Productions. The latter is an Indo-German film banner based in Mumbai and Berlin. It is owned by Arfi Lamba, who has acted in films like Prague (2013), and Katharina Sauckale.

“Akshay has created a genius film and the selection at a prestigious film festival is enough to prove him a unique voice coming out of the Indian indie scene.
