Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy's Gotro to be released in August


Gotro deals with the evils of the caste system. It also refers to the recent rise of communal sentiment and conflict caused by various divisive ideologies.

Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy have launched the logo of their upcoming film Gotro while they still rejoice in the success of their previous film Konttho, which was released last month.

Earlier, Belashuru was announced as their next film to be released. Belashuru is supposed to be released during the Puja later this year.

The directors are yet to officially announce the cast of Gotro. According to a report by Mahanagar24X7.com, the film features Manali Ghosh, Saheb Bhattacharya, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Anusuya Majumdar and Kharaj Mukherjee.

Gotro deals with the evils of the caste system, which is still prevalent in society. It also refers to the recent rise of communal sentiment and conflict caused by various divisive ideologies in the country.

The logo in the poster has a circle at the centre of which the name of the film is written along with the subtitle ‘Embraces Humanity’. Circling the message inside are the symbols of various religions of the world.

Gotro has been jointly produced by Windows Production House and Senco Gold. The film is slated for release in August.
