Vijay Sethupathi plays dual roles in Sanga Thamizhan

It will be the first time in his career that Vijay Sethupathi, who has over half a dozen projects in his kitty, will be seen playing dual roles

If the industry grapevine is anything to go by, actor Vijay Sethupathi will be seen playing dual roles for the first time in his career in upcoming Tamil film Sanga Thamizhan, which is being directed by Vijay Chandar.

The film, which marks the maiden collaboration of Sethupathi and Chandar, is being produced by Vijaya Productions. The project is currently in its final leg of shooting.

Raashi Khanna and Nivetha Pethuraj play the leading ladies in Sanga Thamizhan, which also marks the acting debut of Sethupathi’s daughter Shreeja.

It’s worth mentioning that Sethupathi’s son, who played his younger version in Naanum Rowdydhaan (2015), has also acted in Sindhubaadh (2019), which is gearing up for release next week.

Apparently, Sethupathi felt that his daughter shouldn’t feel left out after seeing her brother act. Therefore, he had her signed for a small role in this project.

On the career front, Sethupathi has nearly half a dozen projects in his kitty. Having completed shooting, he also awaits the release of Mamanithan, which marks his third time collaboration with director Seenu Ramaswamy.

Last seen playing a transwoman in Super Deluxe (2019), it is believed that Sethupathi has signed Mani Ratnam’s film adaptation of epic novel, Ponniyin Selvan. Jayam Ravi, Vikram and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are also said to be part of the project. He also has SP Jananathan’s Laabam, which also stars Shruti Haasan, currently on the floors.

Vijay Sethupathi also has Telugu project Syeraa Narasimha Reddy (2020) in the pipeline. He plays a confidante to Chiranjeevi’s character in this magnum opus.
