The hard-hitting trailer of Anubhav Sinha’s Article 15 and the film's first promotional song, the rap anthem ‘Shuru Karein Kya’, told us something about the plot, which deals with caste discrimination and rape.
But the second track, ‘Naina Yeh,’ which was released today, moves away from the hardnosed nature of the film.
Picturized on leading man Ayushmann Khurrana and Isha Talwar, 'Naina Yeh' is a slow, soulful romantic number. Even the video moves away from the murky world of the film seen in the trailer. This time, we have some typical romantic locations like fields, boats, and some ruins where the lovers spend time in each other's company.
Yasser Desai, as Ayushmann Khurrana’s voice, brings in the right note of softness for the song. He sings the lower as well as the higher pitches well. Aakanksha Sharma provides good support.
Rashmi Virag’s lyrics are not very rich or deep. They are simple, yet they succeed in narrating the feelings of the protagonist for his lady love. Composer Piyush Shankar too has kept things simple as far as the musical score and the instrumentation go, and it works.
Unlike in the trailer, we get to see the romantic side of Ayushmann Khurrana's character here. It is no surprise that he carries off this as well with ease. And we get to see Isha Talwar's character for an extended duration for the first time in this song.
Article 15 is set to be released on 28 June. Watch the song below and let us know if you are keen to watch this film.
