Ranjit Mallick was earlier seen in Purnendu Bikash Chaki's comedy film Honeymoon (2018).
The script for the film has been written by Padmanabha Dasgupta. According to a report in The Telegraph newspaper, Ritwick Chakraborty was shooting for another film when Dasgupta narrated the script to him and the actor liked it instantly.
