Noblemen poster: Kunal Kapoor, Ali Haji take on the issue of bullying

Vandana Kataria's directorial debut is due to be released on 28 June.

Production designer turned director Vandana Kataria's first film has a new poster and a release date. The psychological drama stars Kunal Kapoor, newcomer Ali Haji, Mohammad Ali Mir, Muskaan Jaferi, Shaan Grover and Soni Razdan and is due to be released on 28 June.

The coming-of-age film, set in a prestigious boarding school in Mussoorie, takes on the widespread issue of bullying. The first poster highlights this issue showcasing the teacher, played by Kapoor, with a chalkboard behind him, stating 'Bullying is bad' over and over. Meanwhile, the student, played by Haji, is shown upside down literally drowning in his troubles and bleeding cut on his cheek.

The poster features a hashtag, Boo The Bully, right on top. A 15-year-old Shay is bullied by his boarding school mates especially when he lands the leading role in the Founder’s Day production of William Shakespeare's play The Merchant of Venice.

Kataria said in a press release about the new developments for the film, "It’s a psychological drama that brings to light the dangerous effects of bullying on young minds. It's been an exciting journey working with Yoodlee Films to get this film made, and I am really looking forward to see how audiences will react to our labour of love."

Noblemen is Yoodlee Films' second theatrical release in 2019 after Aijaz Khan's Hamid (2019). They also released Music Teacher starring Manav Kaul, which premiered on Netflix.

"We are committed to making films that are relevant to our social fabric, that engage audiences, and yet entertain at the same time," said producer Siddharth Anand Kumar. "Noblemen explores deep-rooted adolescent issues and how youngsters deal with bullying– an uncomfortable truth, even in the most prestigious of educational institutions, and indeed, across all spheres of their lives."
