Parambrata Chatterjee unveils the poster of sci-fi thriller Bony


The actor-turned-director and Koel Mallick play a Bengali couple settled in Milan, who are parents of a baby boy with some special powers.

Actor-turned-director Parambrata Chatterjee has unveiled the pre-shoot poster of his upcoming directorial Bony (2019), a sci-fi thriller, based on eminent author Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay’s story with the same title.

Bony will star the director himself and Koel Mallick in the lead. Anjan Dutt and Kanchan Mullick will also play crucial roles in it.

The film has an interesting storyline. Chatterjee and Mallick, who will be seen playing a Bengali couple settled in Milan, who are parents of a baby boy with some special powers.

An American-born Bangladeshi scientist gets wind of the special child and runs away from his country to search for the boy for a unique experiment that he has undertaken.

Far from them, strange occurrences begin to take place in a middle class Bengali household. A humble clerk, who harbours passion for amateurish engineering experiments, gets hold of a dysfunctional robot that turns into the reason of some unprecedented events in his life.

In an interview with The Telegraph, Chatterjee said, “These three threads come together to make one story that deals on one hand with the basic crisis of a couple trying to safeguard the life of their child and on the other is the danger the future might hold.”

The director is quite confident that the film will turn out to be a gripping thriller with a human heart at the core.

Koel commented, “I am really looking forward to the shoot of Bony. I love the films Param has directed. Param will be directing me for the first time in a film.”

Chatterjee and Mallick will also be seen in Sagardwipey Jawker Dhan (2019), slated to be released on 21 June.
