Reliance Entertainment ties up with JP Films for 3 projects, including a web-series

Dutta will himself direct a period history film, while the web-series will be based on the lives and accomplishment of 21 of the bravest officers in the Indian forces.

JP Dutta has returned from the cold to find a new partner in Reliance Entertainment. JP Films will now collaborate with Reliance Entertainment to produce content for three major projects, including a web-series. The announcement was made on Thursday, 13 June, with all three projects decidedly being helmed by Nidhi, JP Dutta's daughter. 

JP Dutta will step into the director's shoes for a historical Persian epic, while the other film will be a biopic set on the life of an army officer based in Kashmir. 

The announced roster of projects also includes a web-series based on the lives and accomplishment of 21 officers from the Navy, armed forces and the air force. This will be the first web project for JP Films. 

In a statement, Shibashish Sarkar, Group CEO, Reliance Entertainment said, "The partnership came about as Reliance Entertainment shares a common vision with JP Films in terms of delivering great content to the audience. All three projects will be most suitably mounted to their respective genres." 

JP Dutta, best known for making patriotic war films like Border (1997), Refugee (2000) and Paltan (2018), said: "With the blessings of Maa Laxmi and Maa Saraswati, we at JP Films are very happy to commence this journey with Reliance Entertainment to create milestones in cinema." 

The projects are currently in the casting phase.
