The music album of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Kabir Singh is turning out quite well. The latest entrant from the film, 'Kaise Hua', has the heft and solidity of a soft-rock ballad and sits well with the angst-ridden theme of the film. The song has lyrics by Manoj Muntashir and has been composed and sung by Vishal Mishra.
Visually the song follows the slow journey of Kabir Singh's descent into passionate love. From picking up Preeti (Kiara Advani) at her college to the innocent flirtations, the song captures the unconscious path of Shahid Kapoor's Kabir's realization of love. The visuals are a little stalkerish, but the alpha male syndrome is part of the film's storyline.
The song, on the other hand, is a fantastic piece of work by Mishra. The composer brings his vocal and composing skills together on the track to great effect. The song builds on the primary beats of the bass guitar (Shubham Srivastava) before shifting gears with the drums (Darshan Doshi). The resulting combination is a fantastic, rousing soft-rock ballad that makes for another stellar addition to the album.
Mishra's soaring voice adds a good balance to the composition. He is capable of bringing both passion and intensity to the emotional song with his vocals.
Manoj Muntashir's lyrics are deceptively simple, conveying the whole gamut of emotions that drive this composition further.
Kabir Singh, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is set for release in theatres on 21 June.
