The Eid 2020 clash between Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi (2020) and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Inshallah (2020) has been averted. Shetty's cop action film will now be released on 27 March 2020. This leaves actor Salman Khan's film Inshallah a solo run at the box office on Eid once again.
Khan made the announcement via his Twitter handle where he stated, "I always thought of him as my younger brother and today he proves it." The actor shared a photograph of him and Shetty together.

Shetty's film, starring Akshay Kumar, was announced during the last schedule of his last film, Simmba (2018). The film, which is shooting in Bangkok, Thailand, had revealed this March that it would release on Eid 2020, a festival on which Khan's films usually premiere. Since 2014, five of Khan's seven releases have debuted on the festival of Eid.
Inshallah, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, will feature Khan with actress Alia Bhatt for the first time. The actor has teamed up with Bhansali after 20 years. Their last film together was Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999).
The postponement ensures that both films avert a box office clash. But Shetty's film, which also stars Katrina Kaif and Neena Gupta, will now release on a non-holiday, which might eventually dampen its financial prospects.
