Samantha Akkineni shoots down pregnancy rumours

Actress Samantha Akkineni has quashed rumours that claimed she’s pregnant and that’s why she’s considering taking a break from acting and even hinted at an early retirement recently while promoting her upcoming release Oh! Baby (2019).

She had said Oh! Baby is just the kind of film she’d love to do before retirement.

On Monday, 10 June, Samantha shot down pregnancy rumours by replying to a report that she’s all set to embrace motherhood. Reacting to the report, she replied: “Damn, is she? When you find out please let us know.”

Samantha’s response was well received by her fans, with most of them hailing her sense of humour. With over 600 retweets, the reply has gone viral.

In Oh! Baby, Samantha has teamed up with director Nandini Reddy for the second time after Jabardast (2013). The film is the official remake of South Korean comedy Miss Granny (2014), which is centered on a 70-year-old who magically finds herself in the body of her 20-year-old self after clicking a picture in a mysterious studio.

In March, Samantha completed shooting for Oh! Baby and she thanked her director for giving her a special film.

“Today I am so grateful to the universe, to God and to the people who have been instrumental in helping me find my direction. I have taken some time to grow both personally and professionally. There have been many ups and downs. But today I feel the satisfaction of that growth as I wrap yet another film Oh! Baby. I just know in my heart that this one is going to be special,” she had posted on Instagram.

Produced by Suresh Productions, Oh! Baby also stars Naga Shaurya and it is slated for release on 5 July.

Samantha will soon begin shooting for the Telugu remake of the Tamil film 96 (2018). The project, being directed by Prem Kumar, also stars Sharwanand.
