Actress Kangana Ranaut might just face greater odds after her recent meltdown at the press conference of Judgemental Hai Kya.
The actress's bitter tirade against a journalist earned her all-round condemnation from the media fraternity. Several seniors in the media are reportedly in talks with producer Ekta Kapoor, demanding an apology from the actress.
However, going by the latest tweets from Rangoli Chandel, Ranaut's sister and manager, an apology is hardly likely to be forthcoming.
The fracas began when Ranaut made allegations against Justin Rao, a journalist with the Press Trust of India news agency, at the press conference for the launch of Judgemental Hai Kya's 'The Wakhra Song'.
Ranaut accused the journalist of spreading hatred against her and running a 'massive smear campaign'.
While Rao tried to defend himself, denying the charges made by Ranaut, the actress continued to slam him. Later in the conference, the actress attempted to justify her accusations by clarifying that she was not 'intimidating anyone' but wanted to express her disappointment.
While the rest of the cast on the podium looked awkward and embarrassed by the happenings, it was producer Ekta Kapoor who stepped in to try and calm the situation down.
That has not worked, as the fracas led to a severe backlash against the actress on social media. Several media representatives are also set to meet Ekta Kapoor today to ask her to get the actress to tender an apology.
However, Rangoli Chandel has dismissed any chances of an apology online. On her social media account, Chandel said, 'Ek baat ka main vaada karti hoon, Kangana se apology toh nahin milegi, in bikau, nange, deshdrohi, desh ke dalal, libtard mediawalon ko, magar woh tumko dho dho kar sidha zaroor karegi ... just wait [I promise you one thing, Kangana will not apologize to these sold, naked, anti-national, libtard media persons. But she will thrash them to make them right].'
Chandel has been on her own campaign against the media since the incident at the event. Her clear declaration of 'no apology' might not go down well.
Ranaut is currently filming for Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari's Panga, where she plays a kabaddi player. Prakash Kovelamudi's Judgemental Hai Kya also stars Rajkummar Rao, and is set to be released on 26 July.
