Sacred Games 2 trailer: Ganesh Gaitonde returns to promise destruction on 15 August

This Independence Day, it's time to revisit the ongoing feud between Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) and Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan). The actors return for the long-awaited trailer for the second season of the Netflix show, which will begin streaming on 15 August.

Ganesh Gaitonde returns and so does his mysterious hold over Sartaj Singh. The cop is back on the trail as Gaitonde leaves messages for him to find, promising destruction in his future. The action seems to move away from the maximum city Mumbai, as newer characters are introduced. Ranvir Shorey and Kalki Koechlin feature prominently this season as does Pankaj Tripathi's Guruji.

As the battle between the two leads heats up, so will the body count. Who will make it out alive?

The first season of the Netflix original series premiered last June and the second season has been helmed by showrunner Vikramaditya Motwane. Based on the bestselling novel by Vikram Chandra, the series has been written by Varun Grover, Smita Singh and Vasant Nath. Filmmakers Anurag Kashyap and Neeraj Ghaywan have directed the episodes.

Earlier this March, Netflix revealed the titles of the four episodes which were Bidalah-a-Gita, Katham Asti, Antara Mahavana and Unagamam.
