Samantha, director Gopi Nainar may join hands for new project

Reportedly, Nainar he has already narrated the script to Samantha and has even received her consent.

Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who is basking in the positive response to her latest release Oh! Baby (2019), is said to have given her nod for a new project with director Gopi Nainar, best known for directing Nayanthara-starrer Aramm (2017).

Amidst reports that Nainar had plans to work on a sequel to Aramm, apart from a sports-based film starring Jai and Aishwarya Rajesh, the latest update is that he’s teaming up with Samantha for a new project.

According to sources close to Nainar, he has already narrated the script to the actress and she has even received her consent. However, he can’t begin work on the project unless he completes his upcoming film with Jai.

Apparently, Nainar had originally pitched the script to Jyotika Sadana. It’s tipped to be a thriller that will be entirely shot inside a house in just 20 days. Looks like Jyotika has backed out after listening to the script and Nainar approached Samantha with the offer.

Nainar also has plans for Aramm 2. In his recent interview to magazine Cinema Express, Gopi clarified that Nayanthara won’t be seen playing a politician in Aramm 2. “Nayanthara won’t be playing a politician but the film will continue to address important social issues. It will be more hard-hitting than the first part.”

Meanwhile, Samantha will finish work on her cameo in Nagarjuna’s Manmadhudu 2 and the Telugu remake of 96 co-starring Sharwanand Myneni.

There are reports that Samantha might take a break from acting after finishing 96. The reason for her break is yet unknown, but it looks certain that she’s considering that option.
