Mithila Palkar’s latest film Chopsticks was released online on Netflix recently. Directed by Sachin Yardi, the film also stars Abhay Deol, Vijay Raaz and Achint Kaur.

While it is impossible to know the number of people who saw the film as Netflix does not share the numbers, Chopsticks seems to have worked for Palkar personally. According to data shared by IMDb.com, her ranking on the movies website has shot up after the film's release.

“She has now been announced by IMDb as the breakthrough star for the month of June! The star shot up 15,000 points in rankings from 25K to the top 10K ratings on IMDb, reaching as high in rankings as among the top 3K briefly,” said a note from Palkar’s publicist. The note also shared the data.

Mithila Palkar has two feature films to her credit — Muramba (2017, Marathi) and Karwaan (2018, Hindi). She is also popular in the digital world because of her web-series Little Things and her viral 'cup song' video.

Earlier this year Mithila Palkar spoke exclusively to Cinestaan.com about artistes getting more opportunities today. “There are more opportunities than options," Palkar said. "Generally people don’t come to you with work, especially if you don’t come from a filmi background. But opportunities are more. It is amazing the amount of attention we get in terms of screen time, stories or content. These options are a lot. I think it is an exceptional time to be part of the entertainment industry.”
