After a lot of hemming and hawing, the Abhinav Bindra-biopic seems to finally be on the move. Actor Anil Kapoor shared pictures that mark the beginning of the project going on the floor. The film, based on the life of Olympian shooter Abhinav Bindra, will feature Anil Kapoor alongside his son, Harshvardhan Kapoor, who will play the role of Bindra.
While the movie was announced in 2017, the lack of any development in the project led to rumours of it being shelved. Now, it appears that the film had been delayed, but not shelved. To clear the air, Anil Kapoor posted pictures of himself with Bindra and his father, saying 'Great stories take time to be told! The world will see the inspirational life story of @Abhinav_Bindra on the big screen soon! So incredibly excited for this!'

Anil Kapoor had similarly posted pictures with Abhinav Bindra back in 2017, as part of the project's announcement. Harshvardhan has been in training to get the shooting skills of Bindra right. This will be the actor's first film since Bhavesh Joshi Superhero (2018).
The biopic revolves around the achievements of Abhinav Bindra, who became India's first shooter to hold the world and Olympic gold titles at the same time in 2008. Bindra was presented with the Arjuna award as India's youngest olympian back in 2000, and was also honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 2009.
