A day after actor Aditya Pancholi was granted interim bail by a Mumbai sessions court, a report detailing the list of complaints filed against the actor has come out. Reported in the tabloid Mid-Day, the complaint filed by the actress states that Pancholi's behaviour extended to drug abuse, violence against the actress' family, and blackmailing.
Accessing the complaint filed by the actress, Mid-Day quoted her as saying, "In 2004, I went to a party with him. Sometime after having a drink, I started feeling dizzy. I suspected then that he [Pancholi] had spiked my drink. After the party got over, Pancholi said he will drop me home. So I went with him in his Range Rover car. He stopped it in the middle of Yari Road and started getting forcefully physical with me. He also took photographs of, which I wasn't aware of."
The report further states the actress as saying, 'When we met the next time, he said we now share a relationship like the one between a husband and wife and we will live that way. I told him he was my father's age and I want to marry someone who is as old as me. Then, he showed me all the photographs he'd taken of me inside his car and started blackmailing me.'
The report also adds that after one such event of violence against her, by Pancholi, she had filed a complaint with 'senior police officer Bipin Bihari'. Bihari is currently a DG-rank officer of the Maharashtra police, who is posted as the managing director of the Maharashtra State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation. Between 2004-06, when the incident allegedly occurred, he was posted as the Additional Commissioner (West region) of Mumbai police.
In addition to these, the actress has alleged that Pancholi's wife, actress Zarina Wahab, knew of these incidents. The report quoted the complaint reading, "Instead of helping me out she said she does not have any problem with whatever is going on between me and Pancholi; both of us can carry on. She told me that she felt happy whenever Pancholi was not at home and said there will be peace at home only when he's not around."
The complainant also accused Pancholi of having physically assaulted her sister, and later blackmailed them of Rs50 lakh.
Pancholi has been booked by the Versova police under IPC sections sections 376 (rape), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison, etc. with intent to commit an offence), 384 (extortion), 341 (wrongful restraint), 342 (wrongful confinement), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation). The police had recorded Pancholi's statement on 12 May, after receiving an official complaint from the actress' sister via email.
Pancholi, meanwhile, has maintained that he is 'falsely implicated' in the case. The actor's counsel, Prashant Patil, has reportedly submitted video footage of the complainant's lawyer talking about filing a rape case if Pancholi does not take back the defamation suit he filed against the actress. The police is examining the video footage as well.
The court has moved the hearing of the case to 19 July.
