Ek Hota Malin is based on deadly landslide of 2014: See poster

A devastating landslide in the Malin village in July 2014 killed at least 17 people and trapped several others. Now, a Marathi film, titled Ek Hota Malin: The Landslide, will revisit this tragedy. 

Produced under the banner of Dream Dot Creation, the film has been written and directed by Dattatray A Gaikar and Raju N Rane. 

Ek Hota Malin stars Prashant Mohite and Ashwini Kasar. Mohite was last seen in Chhatrapati Shashan (2019) and is awaiting the release of his next, Laal Batti (2019). Kasar has starred in television serials like Kamala (2014) and Katti Batti (2018). 

The makers have released the first poster of the movie, but it doesn’t feature any of the artistes. It just has a chilling image of an arm of a person trapped in the debris and another hand trying to help the victim. 

The release date of the film will be announced soon. Malin lies 75 km from Pune and 30 km from the iconic Bhimashankar temple.
