Even as they wait for Mission Mangal to arrive in theatres, Akshay Kumar and Jagan Shakti have already set their sights on their next project. The actor and filmmaker will team up again for the Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster, Kaththi (2014). The film has been tentatively titled Ikka.

In a quote to tabloid Mumbai Mirror, Jagan Shakti said, "It [Ikka] will resonate with the underprivileged section of the society. With my second directorial, I want to explore action which is presented in a sleek way."

Released in 2014, Kaththi featured Vijay in a double role and revolved around the story of a man fighting multi-national corporations as part of the farmers' agitation.

The director had initially planned to make his debut in Hindi cinema with Ikka, but the project was put on the backburner. The film had been planned with Akshay Kumar in the lead role. The report quoted Jagan Shakti confirming that the film has now been greenlit. "But now Ikka will go on the floors soon," the director said.

Akshay Kumar recently released the poster of his upcoming, Bachchan Pandey, last week. The actor will also be seen in Jagan Shakti's upcoming, Mission Mangal, which is set to be released on 15 August.
