Prasthanam teaser: Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff gear up for war

Power, politics, legacy. The first teaser of Prasthanam deals with heady stuff. “Haq doge toh Ramayan shuru hogi, cheenoge toh Mahabharat,” says Sanjay Dutt’s character like he means it.

The teaser gives major flashbacks to the 1990s as the cast consists of Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Manisha Koirala and Chunky Pandey. It is great to see Koirala again. The actress was underused in Sanju (2018) where, ironically, she played Nargis, Sanjay Dutt’s mother.

The younger faces in the cast are Ali Fazal, Amyra Dastur and Satyajeet Dubey.

Besides Dutt, no one else is given a dialogue to utter in the teaser, but flashes of the cast show them in turmoil. The battle and the attempt to stay on top in the game of power causes them much agony and grief.

Directed by Deva Katta, the film is an official Hindi remake of his 2010 Telugu film of the same name. The Hindi version is produced by Sanjay Dutt under his banner, Sanjay Dutt Productions, and the teaser has been unveiled on his 60th birthday.
