Box office: Hrithik Roshan’s Super 30 has an impressive second week, The Lion King does well too

The Hrithik Roshan-starrer Super 30 (2019) has had a good second week. Directed by Vikas Bahl, and based on the life of mathematician Anand Kumar, the film made Rs37.25 crore in the week, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com.
Super 30 had finished its first week on an impressive Rs75.36 crore. Hence, the drop in the second week is just under 50% which is impressive. The film’s overall total now stands at Rs112.66 crore against the budget of around Rs65 crore. Hrithik has a clean hit for the first time after Agneepath (2012).
Meanwhile, the Hollywood animated film The Lion King (2019) also had a splendid first week in India. The film has so far earned Rs81 crore and is still running in good amount of theatres.
As per BoxOfficeIndia.com, today’s morning occupancy for The Lion King was higher than the two new Hindi releases, Judgementall Hai Kya and Arjun Patiala. It looks like the new Hindi releases won’t be a major threat to the film.
On the other hand, the Shahid Kapoor-starrer Kabir Singh had another good week at the box office. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film earned Rs7.75 crore in its fifth week. Its grand total now stands at an incredible Rs271.88 crore.
