Jackpot trailer: Jyotika and Revathy kick ass in this cop-comedy

The trailer of Jyotika’s next release Jackpot (2019), which also stars veteran actor-filmmaker Revathy, was released on Tuesday (23 July) to coincide with the birthday of her husband Suriya, who turns 44. Suriya is also producer on this project.

Going by the trailer, it can be assumed that the film is an action comedy and we get a glimpse of Jyotika really kicking some butts in what can be gathered as an out-and-out fun avatar.

The trailer opens with two former dons talking about the trouble that’s brought upon them by Jyotika and Revathy. Cut to next shot, we see the duo step out of a police vehicle. In another shot, Jyotika introduces herself as Inspector of Police.

While it was announced that the film will feature Jyotika in the role of a cop, it looks like she will also be seen donning multiple avatars as per the trailer.

The film, which had its customary launch in February, also features veterans Yogi Babu and Anandraj in crucial roles. S Kalyan has directed Jackpot, which is gearing up for release this August.

The film, produced by actor Suriya’s 2D Entertainment, has music by Vishal Chandrasekhar.

Last seen playing an honest, fearless headmistress in Raatchasi (2019), Jyotika also has a yet-untitled project with director Jeethu Joseph in her kitty.

The regular shooting of this project commenced in Goa a couple of months ago. This film features Karthi and Jyotika, who are sharing screen space for the first time, as siblings.
