Judgemental Hai Kya song ‘Kis Raste Hai Jana’: Kangana Ranaut figures out a path in London

Moving away from Mumbai, the latest song ‘Kis Raste Hai Jana’ from Judgemental Hai Kya (2019) takes Kangana Ranaut’s character Bobby to London, where she has a few things to figure out. This seems to be a flashback portion of the film.

After an angry encounter with a London cabbie, Bobby heads to the theatre company where she meets Jimmy Sheirgill’s character who seems to be the artistic director. Her interactions with him change over the course of the song. From being mistrustful and fearful, Bobby learns to trust and becomes friendly with him over time.

The Arjuna Harjai composition is wistful, especially through the guitar pieces, and melodic. Surabhi Dashputra brings soul and emotion to the track written by Kumaar. Harjai accompanies Dashputra on the song and their combined vocals settle in nicely to the soft rhythm.
