Box office: Super 30 inches towards Rs100 crore

Meanwhile, Hollywood film The Lion King has had a remarkable first weekend.

Hrithik Roshan-starrer Super 30 continued to earn well even in its second weekend despite the release of Hollywood's animation film The Lion King. Directed by Vikas Bahl, the film made Rs23.25 crore. This takes its overall total to Rs98.61 crore. The film is expected to reach the Rs100 crore mark by end of day today.

Kabir Singh has earned well even in its fifth weekend with Rs4.75 crore. The overall total of the Shahid Kapoor-starrer now stands at an incredible Rs268.93 crore. 

The Lion King has had a remarkable first weekend in India as it made Rs54 crore, as per figures shared by Boxofficeindia.com. The film opened with a fair number of Rs11 crore on Friday (19 July). 

The film's earnings experienced a considerable jump on Saturday as it made Rs19 crore. The upward trend continued on Sunday with Rs24 crore. The fact that the Hindi version of the film has voices of Shah Rukh Khan and his son Aryan Khan also helped the film's cause. 

This is the third highest weekend number for a Hollywood film in India after Avengers: Endgame (2019) and Avengers: Infinity War (2018), which made Rs157.25 crore and Rs94.33 crore respectively.
