After being praised for his work in Mahesh Manjrekar’s Bhaai Vyakti Kee Valli: Purvardha (2019), actor Sagar Deshmukh will now be seen in Mohit Takalkar's Medium Spicy. The actor is the latest addition to the cast of Lalit Prabhakar, Sai Tamhankar and Parna Pethe.

Speaking about his casting and character, producer Vidhi Kasliwal of Landmarc Films said in an official statement, “Yes, Sagar is part of the Medium Spicy ensemble and we are so happy to have him on board. Medium Spicy has a mélange of many interesting characters and Sagar’s character is an integral part of the story.”

This is Deshmukh’s fourth film with Tamhankar after Hunterrr (2015), YZ (2016) and Girlfriend (2019), which will be released this week.

Bhaai Vyakti Kee Valli: Purvardha was the biopic on the celebrated versatile film personality Purushottam Laxman Deshpande aka PL Deshpande where Deshmukh played the lead. The film was released in two parts. The actor is also playing the role of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar in the television series of the same name which is currently on air.

While not much is known about the storyline of Medium Spicy, an official statement from the makers earlier this year described the film as: “In life, as in food, each of us has a different palate and preference for the spice we want in it. So how does one find the right balance and moderation? The story, through an urban relationship, intends to have an interesting take on whether there is actually a case for balancing relationships.”
