Actor Deepak Dobriyal is making his Marathi film debut with Raj Gupta's Baba, produced jointly by Sanjay Dutt Productions and Blue Mustang Productions.
The actor expressed his happiness at entering the Marathi film industry. "I didn't feel I was working in a Marathi film for the first time because of the love I received," Dobriyal said. "[It's] good to have found another industry where a lot of creative work takes place, going by the films I have seen."
About the film's importance in his career, he said, "This film for me equals my 12-year journey in Hindi cinema. That's why I will always be thankful to Marathi cinema. It feels like my rebirth."
Dobriyal, who plays a deaf-mute character in the film, said it was challenging for him to express himself without speaking.
"Shooting the entire film this way was difficult. Initially I felt I can only do a few scenes, but to play such a character throughout the film and live the character was very challenging," he said.
Baba is actor Sanjay Dutt's first foray into film production.
