Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao reunite with Ayushmann Khurrana on Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan

The sequel to Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017) will see Ayushmann Khurrana team up with his co-stars from another hit, Badhaai Ho (2018). Filmmaker Aanand L Rai has confirmed that Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao will be part of the sequel starring Bhumi Pednekar and Khurrana. 

A report from the daily tabloid, Mumbai Mirror, quoted Rai as saying, "With Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, we chose to explore a novel subject in an unusual and unexpected setting. And a story like this needed talents like Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao." 

While the first film was based on the 2013 Tamil hit, Kalyana Samayal Saadham by RS Prasanna, the sequel is helmed by the writer, Hitesh Kewalya. The film will feature a socially relevant take on homosexuality in its story.

Badhaai Ho (2018) earned Gajraj Rao his first Filmfare award for Best Supporting Actor, while Neena Gupta took home the Filmfare Critics' award for Best Actress. 

The film is expected to begin filming by the end of August.
