Filmmaker Kaushik Ganguly is all set to direct his son Ujaan Ganguly for the first time in Lokkhi Chhele, produced by Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy’s Windows Production House. Ujaan made his debut with Pavel’s Rosogolla, that was also produced by Windows Production House last year.
In an interview at the poster launch, Ujaan spoke about the upcoming project and how important it is for the father-son duo. “This is not only my dream project but of my father’s as well. He has been nurturing this dream since he was of my age because he always wanted his son or daughter to act in his own film. My dream is rather recent compared to his,” he said.
Ujaan also added that working in his father’s film is more of a privilege for him. “Both of us knew, at the back of our minds, that the project is going to take place someday but we did not know that it will happen so soon and that too with Windows Productions House,” the actor added. Ujaan was signed for two films by Windows Production House, and was looking forward to working with Mukherjee and Roy again. However, the opportunity of working with his father came as a surprise and has made him prepare for the film with a renewed zeal.
“The person I am going to work with is my father, friend and director altogether. The world knows him as the director, but is not aware of his other two avatars. Therefore, I have to prepare myself, keeping all these aspects in mind,” added the young actor.
The other cast members have not been announced yet. The film will go on floors in August or September 2019.
