While Zero continued to flounder with only Rs6.25 crore in its second week, KGF lodged Rs10.50 crore in the second week.

Even as he gets ready for the release of Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy next month, Ranveer Singh's Simmba led the box office in its first weekend. The film notched up over Rs150 crore on its first week according to figures shared by Boxofficeindia.com. The film marks a great end to Singh's successful 2018 at the box office, which began with Padmaavat.
Simmba opened impressively with Rs75 crore in its first weekend, before going on to add Rs21.50 crore on Monday, and a record collection of Rs27.93 crore on Tuesday. Since then, the film has experienced an understandable drop. It notched up Rs14 crore on Wednesday, before dropping further to Rs11.75 crore on Thursday. However, these numbers still have not fallen a worrying amount.

With no major releases in the coming week, the film might see its collection regain further strength in its second week.
On the other hand, Aanand L Rai's Zero struck a new low in its second week. The film dropped by over 90% to earn Rs6.25 crore in its second week. This takes the film's total to Rs88.11 crore, which is unimpressive to say the least.

The Kannada film, KGF, meanwhile, maintained a decent second week run with Rs10.50 crore. The film's buzz was affected by the rise of Rohit Shetty's Simmba, resulting in its immediate downfall. However, Boxofficeindia.com reported that the film still managed a good return in the Maharashtra region.
Simmba's collection is the second best first week collection of 2018, after Sanju (2018). The film is likely to see a good run in the second week, resulting in further success.
