Priyanka Chopra's Isn't It Romantic to stream on Netflix on 28 February

The rom-com, starring Rebel Wilson and Liam Hemsworth, will release in theaters on Valentine's Day, ahead of its digital debut.

The romantic comedy Isn't It Romantic will head to Netflix only two weeks after it hits US theatres on 14 February, Valentine's Day. The film, directed by Todd Strauss-Schulson, pokes fun at cliched tropes in romances with Australian star Rebel Wilson as New York resident Natalie who hits her head and wakes up in the world of a rom-com.

Fellow Aussie Liam Hemsworth plays the romantic lead who falls for Wilson's Natalie. Priyanka Chopra stars as Isabella, a yoga ambassador, who falls for Natalie's co-worker and friend, Josh, played by Adam DeVine. Betty Gilpin and Jennifer Saunders are also part of the ensemble cast.

The decision to stream the film on the streaming giant Netflix doesn't come as a surprise. Last year, the company invested heavily in rom-coms, releasing films like Set It Up and To All The Boys I've Loved Before in what they called the 'Summer of Love'.

Their gamble has paid off in dividends as the company eventually released info that stated in their quarterly earnings report that more than 80 million subscribers had watched one of the 11 rom-coms from the Netflix original slate. They didn't share the individual data for each movie, but the numbers point to a revived interest in the genre thought dead by Hollywood.
