The Malayalam actor's home production has taken over the rights for Karthik Subbaraj's upcoming film, featuring Rajinikanth.
Prithviraj acquires Rajinikanth's Petta rights for Kerala market

Malayalam actor Prithviraj's home production has acquired the distribution rights to Rajinikanth's upcoming film, Petta. The production house has announced that the film will be released across 200 screens in Kerala on 10 January.
The film will also mark the debut venture for Prithviraj's home production, The actor had launched the company, Prithviraj Productions in 2017 after ending his longstanding partnership with August Cinema Pvt Ltd.

Petta remains one of the most awaited Rajinikanth releases this year, with the actor coming on the back of a fairly successful run with 2.0. The film is directed by Karthik Subbaraj, and will also mark the debut of Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Tamil cinema.
The film is set to clash with Ajith-starrer Viswasam at the Tamil box office. Both films are set to be released in theatres on 10 January.
