Kartik Aaryan, Kriti Sanon match steps in peppy ‘Poster Lagwa Do’ from Luka Chuppi

The song is the remix of 'Yeh Khabar Chhapwa Do' from Akshay Kumar and Urmila Matondkar-starrer Aflatoon (1997).

The song ‘Yeh Khabar Chhapwa Do’ from the Akshay Kumar and Urmila Matondkar-starrer Aflatoon (1997) is the latest to get a remix treatment for an upcoming film.

The song has been recreated for director Laxman Utekar’s Luka Chuppi as ‘Poster Lagwa Do’ and filmed on the lead pair Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon. The original was sung by Lalit Sen, while 'Poster Lagwa Do' is sung by Mika Singh. His last song, the remix ‘Aankh Maarey’ from Simmba (2018) is still a hit in the party circuit.

There is nothing extraordinary in Singh's singing here. He sounds the same as he did in his other recent songs like, 'Aankh Maarey' and 'Milegi Milegi' from Stree (2018). His co-singer Sunanda Sharma scores over him through her smooth and sweet voice.

In terms of lyrics, original words have been added in the two stanzas and it works quite well. White Noise Studios have done well in recreating the music, especially the signature tune.

‘Poster Lagwa Do’ is also a vibrant treat to the eyes as the lead pair matches steps with professional background dancers in the picturesque ruins of a fort. The film’s characters, including Pankaj Tripathi, also appear in the song.

Aaryan and Sanon's impressive chemistry is on display here, like in the recently released trailer. Some more energy from Aaryan would have added more punch to the picturisation. The pair will be seen together for the first time on screen.

Luka Chuppi is Utekar’s first Hindi film as a director. He has two Marathi films to his credit — Tapaal (2014) and Lalbaugchi Rani (2016). He has also been a cinematographer in a number of well-known films like Blue (2009), English Vinglish (2012), Dear Zindagi (2016), Hindi Medium (2017) and 102 Not Out (2018).

Luka Chuppi wil be out in theatres on 1 March.
